Purpose: To experimentally determine dissolution rate and solubility of a number of poorly soluble drugs with a new miniaturized method.Conclusions: The miniaturized dissolution method is suitable to use also when measuring truly poorly soluble compounds and using biorelevant media. The IDR showed excellent correlation with the apparent solubility values, indicating that the IDR can be used as a substitute for measurement of solubility. Hence, the method allows rapid assessment of dissolution rate and solubility using a small amount of compound only.
